CNC ported FP Green hotsides and O.E. exhaust manifolds
I'll be looking very closely at this thread... I would like to see if this adds some sort of advantage over hand porting, but what I've seen is the best method has been going with custom wheels inside of the 16G cartridge.
On a 10.5 single puck there is not a whole lot to be done on the turbine inlet once you've gasket matched it and ported it down to the area where the bypass port troughs cut across the housing floor. There is a lump on the far side of the trough and once you grind that down then you can use a long shanked carbide burr to ease up into the scroll. But, really there is just not too much to be done on the turbine housing's inlet side either by hand or with computer numerical control. Let's be honest about it.
So he'll have to go to town on the turbine outlet, exducer side of the housing. This is where most of the backpressure can be relieved. The turbine's exducer is heavily shrouded as delivered from FP. He can improve the pressure ratio by opening up the turbine outlet area using a trumpet contour, as opposed to a straight conical profile.
