Bosco says time for bed we will pick this up tomorrow. Tom I figured out how to get Bosco not to rip off the heads off her toys... get toys without heads... works perfect. Day 3 and counting. Great job today Tom. Indy

Good night Indy and Bosco.
Aby@MIL.SPEC, that's why I was working on getting the speed sensor installed, but when the dyno's ready and open, we've got to get on it. I'm very close to having my tach installed. I've got 2 kits and that gives me the ability to have 2 setups ready to go. Gauge reads to 180,000 rpms.

Thanks for the testing 9sec9 and everyone else that was involved. Now the evo community knows the "wall" for this turbo.

Maybe i missed it but can someone give the mods on Roberts car that dynoed on post #13?

I think evolutionm community should thank them for their testing and hardwork BUT not get caught up in peak numbers. Lets wait until some more "average" evos buy the white and dyno test them on pump. Then we can compare the graphs to the other 'average" evos that have Greens and are/were dynoed on pump as well. PUMP for PUMP should be the debate/arguement for these turbos.

Those graphs aren't really for me but they are interesting. I doubt anyone else will push the limits quite as hard.

For the money it really does look like a decent upgrade. You would really have to be into car bowling to "need" a green.

Did you log airflow? How many pounds was that thing flowing?

Thank you 9sec9 evo. Your work is very much appericated.

I think at 25 psi..the car should be making atleast 375 on pump..

think im close?

9sec9,

Thank you very much for all of the time, effort & finances put into this testing along with all the other testing you have done & shared with us all.

If you all remember when we wanted to see results for the White, Tom said he would do this for us to show what the absolute power production that this turbo COULD achieve. Robert showed what was available to the average bolt on consumer, & now we all can see the potential of this beast.

If you know anything about Tom's car (there's alot of threads on it), you'd have to expect the boost, fuel type, Indy Special IM & his goals to have this justifiable outcome. If that's not your cuppa just skip this thread all together lad's. It's just very interesting to me but I personally can't afford a dream build like this , I get to live this dream unfortunately through his eye's......bugger.

Indy,

Thanks also to you for your design of the IM for 9sec9. When is your v0 due out or is it still in the testing phase mate? I'm certainly looking forward to the outcome, good luck on the other projects as well.

Thanks again

Cheers Steve

Steveevo9, Thank You and to answer your question next week. Trent at Buschur will get one, AWD Motorsports Mike will get the four, and I will get one. After talking with 9sec9 at length yesterday this FP White has the right stuff. I have a green now, but after yesterdays results my order is in! This is an outstanding turbo for a car that will be street driven and autocrossed. I understand not everyone has a 1/4 mile warrior like 9sec9, most have a daily driver with bolt ons like me. This is a perfect match for those who do a little of everything. Perfect street manners, and then throw on a Buschur dual stage boost controller and a race gas reflash and you have a dependable weekend warrior. The E-85 and meth guys are going to have the best of both worlds all the time. This is the best HP mod for the dollar for this year. Better get in line now because after Monday it's only going to get longer. Thanks, best wishes and respect to my mates down under. Indy P.S. Australia is a wonderfull place to visit if you get a chance, great people and a great country. I miss my trips down under with the Indy Cars and I'm looking forward to returning for a visit in the future.

Thanks for the test.

Just so I'm getting an accurate judgment on David's dyno, the highest powered stock EVO IX turbo on that dyno has been ~380WHP, right?

Potentially a 30HP gain on a good setup over a stock IX turbo and ~50HP over it if you really want to push the turbo hard. Not too bad for a $600 rebuild.

Tom-

I just got back from the dirt track (Ardmore OK), cooked BBQ for 150 people.
Only 50 *****ed. I suck. Ask Ronny Gould. It's his fault. Friggin' Okies. Between him and his brother they've only won like 1200 features.

We gave everyone here nothing but facts. No hype, we posted real numbers. Look at the early pages.

When was the last time you ever saw a vendor post a dyno graph, and a log of that run with TIMING and THE ACTUAL BOOST CURVE and conditions?

I'd say never.

The difference between this and the 1580 occurs at higher PR's.

There is NOTHING you can do to make a TD05H work better at 7K plus.

Its a 'small' turbine wheel, performance is going to suffer at high RPM. Look at the exhaust pressure. Eventually it goes sky high. It doesn't matter if Tom or Fred or FP or Joe Average is using it, it has certain characteristics, it has a performance window.

I tried to talk Tom out of spending any time on this unit, other than use it as a 'filter'. He has better things to do with his time.

Dumb Okie wouldn't listen.

I think maybe that's why he goes fast.

DO NOT BUY a 'White' if your primary focus is drag racing. You'll lose too much top end.

This unit is strictly for those who NEED response and low/mid.

Oh, BTW, there is only 1 company who has put any faith in the EVO bolt-on market to spend R&D money on reverse rotation turbine wheels.

Anybody can whittle out or copy an existing compressor wheel in a short period of time.
Take a look around.

It takes YEARS and a sh1tp0tfull of money to make qualified molds and make turbine wheels.

The best is yet to come.

Well those two posts should end all the BS. Thanks Scott and everyone at FP for all the time and effort to bring this to reality. Indy

What about Blouch and CBRD? They have been working on a new bolt-on turbo for months.

And then there is the 6-blade compressor wheel developed by Buschur and turbochargers.com over a period of several months in 2005 with no involvement by FP.

Everyone here seems interested in low boost performance. The 6-blade turbochargers.com wheel in a stock housing ran 11.3@124 with only 22-23 psi. That's well documented from a reputable source. Now that is good low boost performance!

One more comment. I've taken the time to write down whp/wtq numbers for the FP White at every rpm from 3000 to 7000 in 100 rpm increments. Then, beside it, I posted my best FP Green numbers. By doing that, I could easily compare the numbers. Now, by looking at the 3rd gear pulls at 37.9 psi on the White, to the 4th gear pull on the White, it was easy to see the 700 RPM difference in peak torque. Same tune, basically same boost(although that would have very little difference) and the 4th gear 'tq peaked' at about 5100. Earlier, I stated that our Wilson Intake was DESIGNED for 750 higher torque peak. Now, Keep following me here, remove the 700 rpm later spool of the 4th gear pull and you'll arrive at approximately 4400 (5100 - 700 = 4400). Now, let's take the manifold modification (It must be stressed that Professional's knew what they were doing and had baselines to work with when "Wilson Manifolds" shifted the rpm by about 750 rpms) and reduce the 4400 now by 750. That puts the stock ported manifold on the White turbo hitting peak torque on my car at 3650. I'd say that was going to be very close, maybe even 3600. Now, couple that with a V0 Street Version Manifold and you have the killer street/strip combo I was talking about. It's just a matter of time before you see this to be true. Remember when the "Green first came out and the I'll-wait-and-see'ers said I'll wait and see? Then, those lining up for the Green couldn't see the front of the line? " Just food for thought. I'm tired after being on the road for 10 days and working on the car every day. Today, I'm taking a break. In summation, look for full peak torque by 3650 and reduce the 32 psi graph by approx 10 whp per psi and there you'll have your desired power at what ever boost you want to run. If it's 28, drop the peak number by 40 and you'll probably be at 375 whp MUSTANG. The fact that I was on Import would have little effect at that boost level. That's just a good general way to calculate your numbers.
