crcain,

The green numbers Tom already has from our dyno. We are testing other parts now, turbo's and probably cams too.

The original shortblock we built for the car was down on compression. He has mentioned that in his other thread. He wanted to try out some new things on a new engine so a shortblock was built before he came for a quick swap. We could have saved that step after taking it all apart as the problem was actually in the cylinder head, the shortblock was perfect. The head had the exhaust valves leaking, which is why it was down on compression. It only needed a valve job and his original head was re-installed on the new shortblock. Old shortblock is being cleaned and re-assembled for a spare.

Schweet!
I asked this before and it is a bit off topic and general but how specific are these designs to displacement? will displacement changes (running a 2.3l) through off effectiveness/efficiency or is a good head/cam/intake/valve-train design responsive to a bigger motor. you know what im getting at? sorry if this question is not clear enough...

Hostile, In general you want to put on the best combination for a given displacement. I really don't want to get into a debate why and how, but my stuff is built to order. I do not build generic one size fits all components. Thanks, Indy

right, right. so I guess since all this new tech is specific to 2.0 liters that will be the direction i go next time. Gotta practice my heel / toe for the corners and all will be well i guess. If i had listened to Robi first time around... but thats how i always do everything. Twice.

We can build intakes for any displacement and rpm range, it sounds like you have a 2.3, that would be no problem. Indy

The RED, a 500+ whp stock appearing turbo.

We just finished up the final testing on Tom's car. It came out amazing.

Before all this started we knew we would have to make 500+ whp with the car for it to be able to run in the 9's. Well we have accomplished that with room to spare in the WHP department, now it's just a matter of taking it to the track to run it and ****** that 9 second time slip.

The car just layed down 530 whp and 463 ft lbs of torque. Boost was 38 psi, runs were done on VP Import fuel. Peak torque was from 4600 to 4900 rpm. Peak HP came in at 7350 rpm and still had 525 at 8,000 rpm.

The turbo used is the new FP Red. The turbos are available but only about 15 units for quick release. Pricing is $1795.

Very impressive. Here is the dyno sheet.

The car itself, I know we haven't put out a ton of information on so here is some:

BR 2 liter
BR Stage 3 head (stock sized valves)
AEM EMS
BR double pumper
PTE 1200 cc injectors (running at only 62%)
Forced Performance Red
9sec9 ported exhaust manifold
Indy V3 intake manifold
BR 65 mm throttle body
BR COP ignition
BR Race FMIC
BR upper i/c pipe (custom face inlet)
9sec9 lower i/c pipe
Manual boost controller
BR 3" vband turbo back
SS 02 housing
Indy air box
Indy radiator
BR electric water pump
Tilton twin carbon clutch
BR lightweight front center member
BR mustache bar
Volk CE28n wheels
Hoosier QTP DOT tires
Wilwood front and rear brake kit

That is the biggest part of the build.

Thank you Tom for letting us be apart of this build again. Good luck, I know it is going 9's. I can't wait to see you get it there. Tony, this is going to be a beast, you better rest up, your gonna need your strength!

Dave that water pump is a Buschur Racing unit?

It looks awfully similar to the one Shogun Industries sells and markets as their own "Z Pump"

Seriously?

I cant believe it!!! Those are some stout numbers for a stock appearing turbo! I could not be more excited to pilot this thing.
Very nice job to everyone who made this happen.

The RED IS OUT!!! Wow, a 500WHP stock appearing turbo is absolutely rediculous. Why only 15? If anything I could have the money in a month for it.
