In all reality, this turbo might be ok for someone looking for that extra up top...and I do think the dyno plots would pretty much overlay each other if the temps had been the exact same up until 6600+. But even for $600 on the upgrade, to me it would be worth buying a green. The green spools a couple hundred rpm later and will kick *** over the stock turbo and white throughout the powerband and hold more boost later in the rpm range.

i think this turbo will definitely be a solid upgrade. yes the stock 9 turbo is pretty good, but it has only been one test. once more data comes out i'm sure we're going to hear alot of people changing their minds.

the White (in theory) is the turbo i would love to have. stock like spool same or slighty better midrange with a definite increase on the top end. we'll just have to wait to see how this turbo works in the same condtions as the stock 9

Do you think white+WI+boltons could reach 400hp/tq on a mustang dyno?

In all reality, it depends on whose Mustang dyno you are talking about. But per Razorlab, I'm not going to turn this into some kind of dyno comparison war or anything like that. But FWIW, I would NOT think so on this particular dyno considering the power it made on 100 octane.

That's true, but then again 9sec9 reported 433whp/479wtq (granted that was at 30+ psi), so I was thinking it might be doable. Guess I need to wait for some more data points .

But there's still the fact that 9sec9 achieved over 400 horsepower with the White turbo. Also we're all still waiting for some results from other people.

Agreed, we still have to wait and see some other results. 9sec9 also has a FULLY built car, and was at very high boost levels. I'd like to see what the English boys could do with this turbo, as we know what they can do with the stock IX turbo.
I was seriously debating picking up the OP's turbo, but I got a sweet deal on a new manifold, so I guess I'll be waiting on more results, hopefully some E85 numbers.

Edit. Good testing, can it be that maybe this is a bad turbo that they sent you?

Agreed, but not every person has a completely built motor and runs 30+psi on race gas on a daily basis. This test was for an "average" daily driver with the bolt-ons that the majority of people would have and be comfortable in having in a daily driver. I'm sure if someone run a completely stock motor to 30+psi on this turbo that the peak power would be dramatically different. But again, THAT'S NOT WHAT THIS TEST WAS DONE FOR!!!

It's just too early to tell with the data we have so far...

On the one hand, if you're going to spend alot of money youre going to want to see some pretty measurable gains (let's say at least 20whp). As more tuners and more cars try out the White, we'll start to get an idea of whether it can do that but for now it seems the Green would be the better buy going by the numbers alone.

On the other hand, I've always been happy with the stock spool as is and really hate the idea of any more lag - personally I'd be happy if my stock turbo could just hold 1.8 bar right up until redline instead of tapering down to 1.5.

The possibility of stock-like quick boost with solid top end performance that doesn't let up makes me drool, and I think the White might be able to do it with some amazing tuning while being safe and pretty straightforward to stick on.

I'm considering a used Green but I only run an FMIC, cams, fuel pump, full 3 inch turboback + cat delete, full piping, ported head and a stock bottom end on pump only so even though the Green (or Red even) seems like a more logical choice to make more gains by the numbers I'm not so sure I'd enjoy the driveability of it if it spooled noticeably later than the stocker even if it made, say, 30-40 more whp up top as opposed to 20.

So anyhow, let's see more White data on more cars and more owner reviews O.O

Lol, well a 14B wouldn't work on his Evo, spins the wrong direction . 9sec9's set up is truly a well built engine and yes you're right almost any small turbo would net him some big gains. But you can't write off this turbo just yet until more people can give us their feedback. Hell, I've seen several Greens that were not that impressive. It will come down to see if the White will be good on the "average Joe's" Evo. It might take a certain combination of upgrades so it will work properly. I don't know, we'll just have to wait and see.
