20g Turbo for my Evo8

I have been looking around for a few and I found this setup and many others.

Is there any reason this wouldn't work on my Evo 8? should I buy it or not?

And I would hate to just assume this but the turbo will work with the stock evo8 manifold right!?

Thanks,
- Tyler Gammon

20G is not a bolt on turbo for Evo's. It'll take work to make it fit and work. So no, don't buy it. Look into green/red from FP for bolt on turbos or if you want more power get a kit with 35r.

I don't want anything crazy fast right now or at least to where I'll have to build the motor yet. Just something smaller that will get me to like the mid to low 11 range w/ supporting mods of course and cams.

If I'm reading it correctly, it's only a td05 housing.... the stock Evo8 is a td06 housing, which is bigger, isn't it?

Yah I didn't notice that until I really looked at the picture.. I was like wait.. that turbo is reversed... damn!

Haha, well I was told by a friend that the Evo IX turbo will bolt up to the evo VIII manifold.. so if it won't then maybe I'll just save up, build the motor and buy a 35r.

Ix turbo will bolt up, as will the FP white, green and red, and the white rabbit, wr9, cbrd's bbk (if it ever gets here lol) the TME (tommi makinen edition) evo 6.5 turbo, the turbochargers.com 20G-6, the helix 20G...I'm sure I'm missing something here.....but yea, they're all stock frame turbos. The IX turbo will be a pretty good upgrade for an 8

The key here is there is no VIII manifold - it's just...the exhuast manifold. VIIIs and IXs are the same - the turbos are interchangeabe, but you the oil/coolant lins and compressor outlet pipe are a little different, so it's best to get a IX turbo that includes that stuff.

For the guy above, the true DSM 20g is a TD06, but our 16Gs on the Evo are TD05s - you had it backwards.
