Hmm I went 11.3@123 on low boost with the green....I may just have to pony up and go straight to the HTA35R.

^^^ Yeah, but if you were tuned on E85, you're probably running more timing than everyone else who's on pump - you would expect to see even bigger numbers with the Red.

***On a side note, why is everyone downing a trap of 124 with the Red on pump? These 'bigger' turbos shine on higher boost, so expect to see a much greater difference between Red and Green turbos at 30+psi...

If you're not going to run meth or race gas for higher boost (exception being Buschur cars that run 30psi on pump ), you won't see the potential of these turbos - but you will be pushing the powerband further up into the higher rpm's. Yeah, your peak numbers may be 20whp higher @ 7500rpm than someone else's - but the important thing is that the car is fun to drive.

They looked good on paper and in the AMS cam test. I have a set for my car waiting to go in. Hoping to get my hands on a red to see how my combination of parts works out.

I agree with this but I have ridden in an hta35r powered car and it was a blast!! Besides, they are both FP products and whatever turbo I do will come from FP

Are you on stock valvetrain with the s2's? And how are the 1200s on stock ecu?

Robert said today that his "pump gas" is 100 octane.

His pump gas is 100 octane. Some of you don't get that 100 octane comes from a pump in some parts of the country. It sure is not race gas -- if it was the boost would be turned up far more than 26 PSI. It simply gives additional detonation protection at 100F temperatures.

Yea we can get 100 oct at the pump here in NJ from Sunoco. Agreed I would try and run the same boost as you would with C-16 and such. But alot of heads run 28psi on it without issue

C16 or similar is real race gas. 100UL is NOT. The fuel curves and timing curve capabilities for real race gas, like C16, Q16, or VP Import are very different than those for pump gas, including 100 octane unleaded from the pump, and so is the fuel's capability for very high boost. Here in Colorado, there are several stations that have 106 octane you can pump. It has nowhere the performance characteristics of the C16 that I've compared it to. Not even in the same ballpark.

As a good example of this fact, look at 9sec9's boost levels on the Red using VP Import compared to the 26 PSI Robert was running on 100 unleaded pump.

The point is that Robert's information is another set of data that is useful for those who are trying to get a better feel on what the Red will do. It's easily comparable to many 93 pump gas tunes that use the general range in boost level (26PSI).
