Transmission, and clutch pedal problems

Alright as just being back on the road about a month after my crank pulley breaking off, something weird has happend with my transmission/clutch pedal. I have been out of town all weekend, and i get a call from a buddy last night saying that my clutch pedal is stuck on the floor. He had left the place he was at drove it for about a mile, and went to shift into 4th gear and the clutch pedal stayed on the floor. There has been NO signs of anything going wrong and he said he did not have any signs of anything acting weird. It shifted fine into the other gears with no problem. Well i get back home today, and look at it just for a slit second thinking it might be a fluke deal, well get in push the clutch pedal in and yep sure enough it stays on the floor. So at this point im confused on what to do. I was going to add some fluid and try bleeding it and see if that helps. Has anyone had this problem before? Thanks for any advice.

Try bleeding the system first .Might have air in the line. You might have lost the clip too for the TOB.

Why would you ever let someone else keep your car while you are out of town and let them drive it around?? That didnt occur to you as a bad idea.

This is a very good friend of mine, and no it didnt occur to me and it wont occur to me as a bad idea. It appears as its something that happens as everyone has said TOB most likely. Another thing that gets me is wow it happend when he was driving it, it apparently was going to happen at sometime anyway so do i blame him? Hell no. Also if you didnt realize or check the badges on your car its not an exotic car. Its a mitsubisihi. That comment reminded me of all the douche bag dealers around here that wont let you test drive a X When you already own an evo and bought one brand new.

Better hope that its not your TOB clip coz if so then your tranny has to come out.

Its probably the TOB clip it tends to happen on the twin plates, usually at high rpm shifts. Mine broke at a high rpm 5th gear shift. You will have to drop the tranny to fix it. I believe AMS makes something to fix this flaw in clip design. Or you can have it converted to push type instead of pull type to avoid future problems. Good Luck
