to port or not to port my FP green
The burrs are o.k to use in the restricted inlet area of the turbine housing. But,you don't want to use a small diameter carbide burr in the turbine dischage area, as it will tend to gouge the material. Stones are best for the large diameter concentric discharge port. I guess that you've never ported the outlet opening of a Green turbine housing yourself, have you, 03White?

I'm sure your porting looks nicer then mine. How much of a difference it makes on power is debatable though and maybe 1 more HP by having the perfect surface finish isn't really worth the extra 4 hours and 45 minutes to me.
As for removing the housing alone, I've never tried. I see no point when you can pull the entire assembly so easily and I've never had the need to remove just the housing. Just going off of space though, it seems like it would be a pretty tight fit to get just the turbine housing out without pulling the radiator.
But if you say it can be done, I'm sure it can. Like I said though, I've never had the need to pull just the housing so I've never tried it out.
