CEL: Random misfire code???

I have a CEL on and went to autozone to scan it. Got a random misfire code. Is that normal for my car with all the mods I have? Also, I have already replace my spark plugs when I was having my car worked on.

I just notice the other thread about this. So the tranny or clutch would cause this code to come on??? The car dosen't feel like its misfiring. I do have some sort of annoying sound coming from what I think its from the clutch and my differential.

Another question, My differential seems to be really loud(whinning), so do I have a bad differential?

So it seems it cause by the cam. oh well

I need some help with a whining noise though. I think its from the differential because when I sit in the back seat, its way much louder then the front.

yea... well when my code pops on... my idle is a lot rougher. in my case that is... but...its something to look into...i know there is a fix for evo 8's they swap the rom's but... i also know that... our plug gap should be slightly smaller with cams.. i just havent researched enough to know what to regap them to.

I've had this code come up a million different times, and guess what, every single time it appeared, it was for a good reason, I had a vaccuum leak. Check for leaks, I'm willing to bet a million dollars you have at least one small one somewhere. Check all vaccuum lines, including all the tiny ones behind and under the intake manifold. Now that my car is leak free, it never shows up anymore.

well i agree with that...but...in our case... directly after the cam install its not like... we were driving with they for months or weeks then the light came on...its directly related to the cams..... and the tune... timing block jumps... input shafts...etc...
