revolver 264s vs kelford 272s
hey i bought some kelford 272s a few weeks ago.. i am extreamly happy with them, however with 11mm lift springs are recommended.. im starting to hear something that sounds very bad at idle every once and a while... i think it might be valve tap..
so i came across a deal that someone will trade me revolver 264s (11.5 mm in 11.4 ex) WITH springs BRAND NEW, for my kelfords and stock springs.
is this a good deal? are revolvers any good? i searched for a while and didnt find the info i wanted, all of them where FS REVOLVER CAMS

i run these.
there are no revolvers for ix's. these cams have not been manufactured for some time now. they are a very torquey cam like you would expect with high lift and short duration. there have been quality control issues with both the cams and their springs. i wouldn't run a single set unless i could degree the cams (mine were 11 degrees out of spec on the intake cam), and probably wouldn't use the springs at all. this is why you see them in the for sale section for sometime now. however, they do make gobs of torque/power when they are good (i ran 11.0 with a 1.8 60' on my green with them).

From what I have read the Kelfords are an amazing cam, did awesome in the AMS cam test as well. You would be nuts to take them out your car, get springs and retainers then degree the cams!
And those people probably do not understand the first thing about valvetrain dymanics, and why the cam grinder has determined that upgraded springs are required for these cams.
Do what the cam grinder tells you that you should do, and you will be ok.
