Red options

Im going to be putting a evo red on my evo 8 and i wanted to change the manifold to get something a little better flowing. I was thinking of of doing a full race but i heared that they sound a little tinny, Is that true? What do you guys think?

Also what are you opinions on using a o2 dump with the red is it worth doing or just using my aftermarket o2 housing?

Its not Full Race's manifold that sounds "tinny." Any long runner manifold will give you that same sound. Its the price you pay for better performance.

Do a search for dyno sheets on o2 dumps. The proof is in the pudding.

A ported stocker would probably be just as good.

Look at the JMF manifold for stock frame turbos, it's a very well made piece. They spend alot of time hand finishing the port openings.

a porter stocker well perform just as well if not better...it's basically eye candy and if you have the money to blow on that than go for it..it does look good

Personally I wouldn't go with anything but the JMFAB mani

So i know most people say to just port the stock but isn't there a benefit on the way the tubular bring air better into the turbo?

Also i heard that some stock ported manifolds are just gasket matched and not ported.

as far as people saying the jm fab i can get the full race for about the same price and the welds look alot cleaner from the bad pics that i have seen.

Anyone that has the jm how is it? Any problems?

Not sure what you're looking at but JMFs welds are second to none. CBRD has done some dyno testing with it as well and prefers them to other brands.

Buschur ported and coated stock manifold and coated SS o2 housing, then get the turbine housing ported and coated before you install and you will be in good shape!
