What is a safe boost # on stock 4g63?

I would say you would be safe in the 20'ish , depends on your tune. but it also depends on you engine's health ( as say'd before )

ya the engine is in top condition, still has 17k miles on it and i change the oil every 3k miles. so iam thinking of getting it flashed and jack up the boost to 22psi on 93 octane, just to be safe.

The IX´s MIVEC head is less knock sensitive than the VIII cylinder head. Thus, the Evo IX´s can safely be tuned to run a couple PSI more boost than the Evo VIII´s can on any given octane level of gasoline. Do you have an VIII or a IX, OP?
