What is a safe boost # on stock 4g63?
The safe boost # on stock 4g63 depends on a list of things:
angle of peak pressure (afr/timing)
octane (duh)
rate of combustion (afr/fuel of choice)
VE (camsettings/cams)
IAT (ducting/cooling)
backpressure
oil pressure/clearance/weight
health of engine
and most of all, your wallet!

ya the engine is in top condition, still has 17k miles on it and i change the oil every 3k miles. so iam thinking of getting it flashed and jack up the boost to 22psi on 93 octane, just to be safe.
thanks,
thanks,
The IX´s MIVEC head is less knock sensitive than the VIII cylinder head. Thus, the Evo IX´s can safely be tuned to run a couple PSI more boost than the Evo VIII´s can on any given octane level of gasoline. Do you have an VIII or a IX, OP?
