Better Throttle Response FREE MOD
Better Throttle Response FREE MOD
I loosened and moved the throttle tensioner about 1/4-1/2 inch toward the passenger side, then i tightened it at its new location.
this removed that little bit of slack from the throttle steel cable, now when i tap the gas peddle even just a small tap the needle moves, before you could feel the slack, now no more!
the best part is when taking off slow, also down shifting.
hope you guys understand what i did

Gotta be careful with this though too tight and you actually going to be holding the throttle plate open a little at idle and especially on decel. Easily seen on the wideband and you gas millage will suffer.
Someone else try this? Because it works and feels like a better responding car.
This is a basic mod that many have done, to include myself. Simply taking out the slack in the thottle cable by adjusting the bracket on the intake manifold, it so easy.
Be careful though. I you push your gas pedal by hand you will see that it won't bottom out. there will be a little flex of the pedal shaft because the throttle body is fully open. To fix this pull off the plastic topper under the pedal and thread a bolt or two onto the mounting bolt. Then re-install the plastic stop. Then re-check to see if you are getting full throttle. Once this is done you have a positive feeling when you are at WOT.

I agree, but like mentioned make sure there is *some* slack to the cable, you need a little bit of deflection to make sure the plate closes completely. It will also effect your off throttle deceleration if adjusted too tight, as I can vouch for personally...12.4afr under decel almost every time.
Slack is necessary in the throttle cable. If it's too tight it might keep the plate open.
Under Decl you should see the wide band go lean. 18.00 + AEM gauge reads nothing. Thats how you know the thottle plate is closed and the car is decl
