Oddly I can't find the cca number to test it. It's a genesis enersys mini battery. Just like The pc680 though. At 650 600 400 and300 cca I read 13.1v

Normally, you'd bring the battery back up with the 50amp... it will get warm thats normal, but then after maybe an hour or so switch it to the 15 amp setting. This will get a nice solid charge on it leave it on there for a couple hours or longer... but with the added info of not wanting to go under a 30amp setting... that changes things, what i'm telling you works great for old school wet batteries perhaps this is not a good method for this battery.

yes, I'd say if it can sit there on its own at 12.7 you're probably fine

My 680 wont die. I think I've had it at least 5 years now. Still never drops below 14.1V.

I've left my lights on twice in 5 years on the PC680 (needed a jump start). I've ran it low to the point it almost wouldn't start due to manually running my cooling fans twice. Every winter I park my car, disconnect the battery, and let it sit with no trickle. Every spring it fires up when I connect the battery.

I had one in my high compression bike for 11 years. Kept a battery tender on it though.

Mine's been dying lately. It's only 7 months old. I can charge it up but as soon as the charger finishes and I un-hook it, you can watch the voltmeter slowly drain down .01v every 5 seconds, til it settles around 11.5 volts. I was about to start testing the electrical system of my car, but it'll still drain even if I unhook the car's negative cable from the battery.

Take the battery charger and grab the oddysey terminals from the top in between the jumper cables..

set the charger on 15amp or whatever is the next step up from 2 amp..

It will bring the oddysey back up to a level where the charger can take over eventually and charge the oddysey without going into an error mode..

That error is caused because the charger you are using must see like 4 volts or something but the battery is so dead the charger defaults to a safe mode and wont charge..

let me know how it works.. I just did 3 oddyseys last week and they are all back and kicking in each car perfect.. Good luck!!
This worked great for me. I just successfully resurrected a dead red top Optima with my ol' OEM Mitsu battery which has been sitting in the garage for over a year. I just set my charger on Manual @ 20A and let it do its thing for a while. After I removed the Mitsu battery/jumper cables from the setup I was able to get it charged up the rest of the way with no problems. Been working great since.

I know this thread is a little old, and I'm a little new, but I had to throw in my two cents here.

AGM/Gel batteries like the PC680 can be charged on a normal manual/auto or trickle charger, but they can break down the battery. If you want your PC680 to last, follow the instructions in the manual:

Minimum of 40amp for charging
Charger voltage MUST BE between 14.1v and 14.7v
Charger voltage must NOT EVER exceed 15v

To trickle charge: Charger voltage MUST BE between 13.5v and 13.8v at 3amps

But it's a much better idea to just use a nice battery charger that is rated to charge AGM/Gel batteries.

Sorry to bring back an old thread. My last post here was Oct 7, 2009.

From this date I have now gone through another 2 Odyssey batteries. Never again will I buy one of these, especially in the peak of racing season. All in all spendin about $270 for 2 different batteries is insane. I will be going with a trunk mounted set-up.

I'll take your old dead one if you want to part with it. I'll pay shipping. I want to see if I can gut one (if its really dead) and use the enclosure for a lithium battery case.

I've had more issues with my mini as well. All I can say is my garage has a battery tender/charger now.
