oldd thread.

if OP wanted only 500-550...

optimum setup would be a twinscroll T4 35r. FATT powerband, fast spool up, and capable of 500 w/ ease.

next would be a HTA35... 59mm inducer (compared to 62mm of a 6262) w/ the ability/option to run a twinscroll.

I've ridden on a 6262 daily driver(Cwill's) on E85 though(732whp)....I can't feel that much lag though...one second after he steps on that thing I just freak out and scream for my life.

So much power not enough time for lag to settle in

I used to have a HTAT4Z/HTA37R.
I ran 7.1@99mph w Sunoco 116 octane @32psi on street tires(all season tires) (1/8 mile track)

Now I have PT6262 and Im running 7.1@101mph on 93 octane only @29-30psi still on street tires.(1/8 mile track)

This was on my single Walbro. When I got tuned my second pump(BR double pumper) wasn't working because I never primed it.(my fault)
Now both pumps are working I can't wait to get re-tune again.

Go with PT6262

Too bad there hasn't been a back to back test yet against the 35R.

Based on charts I've seen posted, I'm inclined to believe the 35R spools a bit earlier. Hard to say how much. And I'm not talking about HTA, just a normal 35r.

dont see why it wouldnt...

a 1mm smaller compressor AND turbine wheel over the 6262, and a 7lb/min lower flow rate.

i understand the billet wheel makes a difference, but i dont think that much.

i <3 my 6262 though. top end pull is awesome. i'd be interested in seeing the 6261 (or aka 6282) in comparison to the 35r and 6262 tho.

Guys,

With new Precision options available such as the billet 5857 and 6057, do these fall into the OP's goal of 500-550awhp with T3 turbo?

I've seen on other forums where the 6057 makes upwards of 450awhp, and even 533whp on a VW:

533WHP VW 6057

I spoke to a Precision rep and they recommended the 5857 over the 6057 saying that the 5857 has a better designed wheel which would spool quicker and support as much max power as the 6057.

What's the new consensus?

6057 would have a bigger turbine wheel for a bigger displacement engine to avoid compressor surge vs 5857?

I would take a 6262 and 5857 over a 6057.

They share the turbine wheel, and the 6057 has a larger compressor.

Which would you go with for a 2.0L? I'm thinking 5857 for 2.0L, and 6262 for 2.3L.

Is there anything about the 6057 that would make it your last choice from the three turbo's?
