I just went out for a few pulls with my newly installed ams 50 trim... Now when it starts to spool it starts to whine a little. And also when I left off and the boost starts going down. (And I did prime the turbo before driving it) is this normal?

If it whines like an air raid siren, thats not good. But my turbo (GT3076) will make the standard turbo whistle starting at 0-5 psi spool up...

Whistle is ok, Air raid siren is fugged.

 

I think its more of a whistle. (its when it starts spooling and then when I let off it makes the sound) Hopefully it's just because it's a larger turbo and i'm not used to it.

 

Lots of things can cause it, pretty hard to know for sure without hearing it.

 

Everything installed nice and tight?

 

Yep everything is installed tight. Not quite sure what it is??? It performs well, and the boost doesn't drop or anything... It's weird.. Maybe its normal?

 

Mine whistles pretty loud so it could be normal... I want to see it soon so I can tell you if it sounds normal or not.. Where do you live again? I may be up in SLC area tomorrow for a Orlando Photo shoot..
