Just from spending countless hours here on the forums.

I came to my conclusion that either the Ets 3.5 or bushur race core are the way to go.

If you are a bit short on money go with Ets.

But if u want the best in the business go Bushur.

When i come down to buying an intercooler i am going to be getting the Ets. Seems to be just right for a stock turbo evo 9.

The only funny think is i live like 1 hour from AMS and many believe i should be going there.

But also when i decide to do my nice 30r setup i will get the Bushur Intercooler.

David at Bushur made a great thread showing the different temperatures of different intercoolers.

You should take a look.

Yes they do better. Although type fuel (E85), Meth, etc can help the stock ic quite a bit. I run strait 92oct and from a couple people I have talked to about their back to back logs it helps quite a bit. Ultimately yes you can pretty much heatsoak any intercooler but the threshold stepping up to say a 3.5in ETS is much higher. I will have my own datalogs here in the next week. Only changes I make will be a Nisei LICP in a ETS 3.5in ic. I also will be logging it at my next track event to monitor everything on the roadcourse, I will be sure to share the differences.

Remember, I have a temp sensor in the UICP, so my question about aftermarket IC performance could be a bit of a loaded question. :-) I have some limited comparison data between the stock IC one of the more popular aftermarket ICs, and the aftermarket IC doesn't do much better. I'll generate more extensive data in April after I switch back to the stock IC. I'll post that data as it will be much more conclusive.

Will you have a temp sensor in the UICP or IM for your testing?

I will actually be swapping ICs this week. I am hoping to get same day data to see temp differences.

A single pull isn't enough to show a significant difference, so be sure that you get a nice long log on a long section of road or track with your stock IC before switching to the aftermarket IC. Then get the same log with the aftermarket IC (EDIT: with the same weather conditions).

Since we are dropping pictures now and MrFred Finally got in the act, I'll post mine.

24x4.5x14.5 or so. It fits behind the crash bar with the AC fan removed and the power steering cooler line swapped for a PS cooler from BEGI.

API core, custom tanks, inlet diverter. We rate it around 700.

I kinda figured it was a loaded question with your experience...I don't have a temp sensor in my UICP although I may add one.

The big thing for me was running pump gas and fairly decent amount of power I can heatsoak my intercooler at the track. I have done it on the street where I can actually induce a little knock after 5-6 hard pulls (on purpose of course). I plan to strap my laptop in the car this year. What IC do you have, maybe PM me if you don't want to say?
