hey guys,

i just did a compression test on my VIII. It showed 165,170,170,170.Thing is,I was watching videos and reading up on it,and some people did the test with the throttle body at WOT.I didnt. My motor was warm, though.Do I need to perform it with the TB at WOT?Thanks!

it would be more accurate if you were to do it with the TB open but to be honest it sounds like your compression is very good and I wouldnt even worry about it

Um never heard of doing that I just do it when its sitting cranking it over... But looks like you have a good motor tho man as long as all the cylinders are within 5 psi that good man Mine is all with in 5 psi and still feels good... my other Evo had a 100 psi difference when it was blown mine was 160, 90, 140, 60 thats a bad motor lol So its rebuild now and That one is all at 160 across the board I think your fine I would worry about doing it again they other way...

Agreed! Your numbers are perfect and well within the +/- standard of 10% I have always done a compression test with TB open, Either way I think the results might be the same?
