Crank angle sensor

Crank angle sensor

Looking for some help on this one... my crank angle sensor went out on my 05 evo 8 ... replaced it.. it ran for about 10 min then died and threw the code again for the crank angle sensor.. it will crank but not fire what could the issue be?? any help would be great.

Have someone watch the crank as you push the clutch. See it the cranck moves in and out. If it moves you have problems.

Could it be your cam angle sensor? Since both have to sync for the ignition to fire.

that's what i would check. usually when the cas goes bad you will be able to start it then when it gets hot it wont run at least that's what happened to mine.

Anyone who has a problem with the cam sensor may want to consider something like this (see heat shield):



It's an inexpensive piece of insurance, and is especially useful if there is additional heat in the engine bay, as is the case with tubular manifolds.
