If you can, get a metal penetrant called Aerokroil.
It will save your knuckles, trying to loosen rusty bolts.
I happen to work for an airline, so I have access to better products than the commercial "rust buster" sprays. Good Luck!!

ive been reading along your clutchjob, as i plan on doing the same except with a friend who works at an Auto Service shop, so he works on cars all day and went to highschool for it.
but anyways, im eager to see more of what ur doing! still pondering going somewhere to get it installed though :-/

technical highschools do
he went for auto tech. and they set you up with really sweet jobs for your senior year and for when you graduate. you switch weeks back and forth, academics, and then shop.
except this one kid who was working on his bosses truck the second day on the job, and didnt tighen all teh lugs after he rotated the tires, and his wheels fell off on the highway driving home
needless to say, he was fired

Donald, If your evo is your daily driver and cant be in pieces for more then a day i would say have a shop do it bud.

The only reason i decided to do my clutch job on my own was the fact the evo has been sitting for a year now so why not do it and just take my time and that is what i have been doing...

I mean it has been how many days and i just now got the 6 bolts outa the TC ...which i would like to thank 4 banger for the kind words or encouragement .

When my clutch goes out, I'll be getting an upgrade clutch too but not sure if I want to tackle this job myself as I always want to save money and have been doing most bolt-on myself. Great thread. Keep it up and GL.
