top mount vs equal length vs cast manifolds
Also a true motorsport turbo exhuast manifold will have atleast another full length pipe around each of the primary tubes forming an insulation 'air gap' such that it retains the radiated heat.
What about 13-8 stainless for manifolds? that is extremely durable and its a lot less than inconel.
Great read though. Oh one question though on a manifold that is all over the place aka full-race. How do you put a heat shield on that??

The stainless commonly used for race-grade applications is 321, which has greater heat stability as a result of its titanium content. It's more expensive than common 304, but it's more durable and lasts longer.
Are high carbon steels like 1026 or 1018 manifolds good for manifolds? They are fairly cheap and it seems fairly durable. How is it for heat saturation?
But sticking to the actual topic of this thread. would the type of manifold depend on the turbo being open or twin scroll?
