REAR Quaife LSD

Does anybody have it? What are the advantages of it?

This is the only 1 i have found

http://enjukuracing.com/quaife-mitsu...ar-p-7561.html

I'm thinking of upgrading my OPEN LSD which comes stock on the 03' Evo 8 and putting a much stronger LSD, that will reduce my wheel spin off the line. My only concern is will my axles handle the grip?

You can get a ralliart or RS front LSD for your 03 for $400. That is what you need. The rear diff already have a LSD.

All evo's came from the factory with an LSD in the rear.

The xfer case contains the front diff. Then the front to rear split is managed via viscous coupler and some other fancy diff in the tranny.

I gotta ask. It says your drive a IX. The IX's had a front diff I believe. Or did you buy an VIII as well?

I had an 03 EVO 8 that I replaced the front open diff with a ralliart LSD from TRE.

I have since moved on to an EVO 9 which has ACD and the front LSD right from the factory.

Okay either way! With the amount of power im putting down i dont care if Arnold Schwarzenger came stock with an Evo 8 LSD front or read, its not strong enough to hold the power.

I'm looking for QUAIFE LSD, REAR. I need something stronger. I've heard of people putting the Quaife in the front but not the rear.

That's probably because even the big boyz with 9 second evos are still running the stock rear diff. They have a bigger problem with axles than diffs. You should pull the rear diff and flip flop the plates so they lock up harder and faster. TRE posted a how-to.

To answer your question Quaife does not make a rear dif. Only Front and Center.

Stock Rear Diff has been in 8 sec so you shouldn't worry about that... unless you have too much money and looking for some headache.
