Evo cutting out.

So I installed a new clutch and after putting everything back together, the clutch is working great. Now when I step on the gas hard somewhere between 3-4k RPM the engine starts cutting out and the car chokes and jerks violently, almost as if the engine is being starved and is not getting enough gas. But, I'm not sure that is the case. The plugs all look good and are gapped to .026. Anyone ever have a problem like this?

By the way, my car is stock. 44k miles.

can you do datalogging? my friend had a similar problem and it turned out he installed the mbc holes incorrectly. Also too much gas will cause hesitating as well.

Stock fuel pump.
I'll have to do a boost leak test. Thanks for the responses guys.

No boost leak. Any other ideas? It starts cutting out between 3-4k in every gear and refuses to make power or continue towards redline.

If I stay on the gas pedal lightly it will rev all the way to redline.

If it "hits the wall" then it's overboost hence fuel cut. If it's hesitating and jerking then maybe too rich. If it's too lean your car will hesitate but in a different way, it's like running out of fuel hence the car slowly slow down (I been in a lean evo before, not my evo so). How much boost?

Anyone else have any thoughts on this. I feel like I've exhausted every attempt at a fix. Boost leak test, new plugs, gone through the engine thouroughly an I'm at a bit of a loss.... Thanks!

Could this have anything to do with the MAF?

i have the same problem when i shift from 2-3 at 3k 3-4 at 3,500 it hesitates bad. an feels like the car slows down for a bit then picks back up again, an its really annoying. but when i first start to drive it in the morning it shifts and drives fine. i think it just needs a tune. mods-walbro 255,272 cams, bigger intercooler/pipes bigger air intake, stock injectors/block. any one have any ideas??
