Yes as long as its a 5 speed harness does not matter if its from a 8 or 9

Necro. Useful thread. Instead of making a new one I'll ask here...how much power can the MR trans handle before showing signs of weakness?

Sweet. I guess it just depends on how you intend on using the car. DD'ing and a few canyon runs shouldn't be an issue I hope.

The 5 speeds in the Evo 9 over here in the USA are all the same. After driving a handful of 5 speeds there is no way I would switch.

The 5-speeds are more notchy and have good feel (to be honest I've only felt one, but it's what I've been told too), the 6-speeds are softer and shift more smooth like a more 'daily driver' style car (honda etc). Depends what you like I guess.

I have an MR but the previous owner swapped a 5 speed in it and now I'm looking to switch back to a 6 speed. I just really would like to have the 6 speed since I am not into racing and my evo's my dd.

lol, I'm not going to need the 5 speed bro. I'm never going for big power or road racing/drag racing. I would much rather have a 6 speed since I do A LOT of highway driving. Come see me bro you know where i work ! lol
