That list has everything needed you need. Just ensure you get a ix 5spd harness if you have a ix regardless of what year the Tranny is.

Well another thing is that I have AMS clutch lines already on my 6-speed, but from reading the list it looks like I may have to modify them? Or will they work without needing to bend anything?

You shouldn't have any issues with aftermarket clutch lines. Everything listed on the front page is OEM replacement parts. If you were to buy, lets say... TS shift linkage bushings they actually come with the clips and retaining pins so you could eliminate the OEM retaining pins from the parts list.

Well finally got the car back. I got all the little parts new except the shifter box. I have an 5-speed with JDM 5th gear. I was told it has a few thousand miles on it only from a car that was totaled.

Holy god the 5 speed is loud in 1st gear. I have never heard such a loud transmission before. I understand a little whine in 1st gear, but this is louder than someone talking right next to me etc. I have read that whine in 1st is normal, but this is really loud....the six speed was super quiet compared to this.

I feel like I want to sit in a bunch of 5 speed evos to judge if this loud of a noise is normal.

Can someone post a picture of the MR console with the 5 speed? Current I have the 5 speed in my SE, but was never a big fan of the 5 speed console, so I'm thinking about swapping it for the MR one. Probably will have to do a custom boot to make it fit.

Thanks in advance

Eric

Yea you'll need to do something with the boot. Otherwise it fits just fine. You can see it here in my vid if you fullscreen it:

such as?

I started my swap today, getting the transfer case free of the transmission was a ***** but other than that it wasn't too bad. Should hopefully finish tomorrow, I will post results.

6-speed can't take extended track abuse or really big power.

I'm sorry for the noob question, but I'm considering on converting my current 6 speed transmission with a 5 speed transmission. Just seen Jacks Transmission selling their 5 speed conversion kit for $550, but would I still need to get all the washers, bolts, nuts, and etc. listed on post #14 by GST Motorsports? Thank you for your time!

I bought used cables and harness from a vendor here for 200shipped. It included the 5speed mount, harness, shifter base, and cables. The cables already came with the brackets and I didn't need any extra washers or anything. I did buy a 5speed clutch line. Other the. That everything bolted up very easy.
