You can get the 9 harness if you can't find the 8. You would just need to cut off one connector from your harness and transfer it to the new harness. Had to do the same with mine as I couldn't source the right harness in the time frame I had.

If I take all the parts listed for a 5-speed conversion and order them for a 6-speed, will I need anything else to do a 6 speed swap?

Yup, I know most people do it backwards but 6 speeds are fun.

It’s really hard to find the parts for it though

 

I'm a 6spd guy so not slagging the idea just wanted to clarify that was in fact what you are after. Yeah, do the 5 gear for the 6. Cables, shifter base are the big things. Probably want center console as well cause the 5 is shorter...or longer? Don't recall, but they slightly different.

 

How are you all? I have a question, I have a non-acd 5-speed Evo8 and I would like to upgrade it to 6-speed, but I need to know if I also have to change the transfer case or if the 5-speed transfer case will work in 6-speed? Thanks

 

Why move to the 6 speed? I like mine but there really isn't a benefit to moving from a 5 speed to a 6 speed. The 5 speeds are stronger and the difference in cruise RPM is minor enough that it isn't worth it.
