To answer my own question on the conversion. The ONLY thing the Shepherd Racing 5 Speed conversion kit does NOT include is the shifter cable bracket. You will need to get a 5 speed trans with one already on it, or order one like I did. Other than that no issues here!

your good dude, haha. Washer and couter keys arn't much to find, The clutch line is not worth doing, nor the bracket that holds it down..... where is it really gonna go? I would probly say different if it were around spining parts. The harness is tricky, everythign i read said you need the 5 speed harness but when i did my swap i noticed the 5 speed tranny harness doesn't plug into the 6 speed engine harness. i was like ok well, I can re pin the connectors and just swap the physical plugs......
denied! Even the freaken pins inside the connector are different and i buggered up one of them in the process of understanding it didn't fit. I personally just cut the male and female end of a plug that had atleast 5 pins out of a parts car and cut and soldered it in there. Its really not bad as its only 5 wires but it is misleading because no one ever mentions that and you get to that point and your just like ...REAAAALLLLYYY ???

+1 It is not difficult if you just get the list of parts.

Almost $500 even if you buy all new parts. Probably less than half that much if you find the stuff used.

Anyone knows or have done the 5 speed conversion using a 5 speed tranny from a Evo 7?

Are the gear ratios & final drive on the Evo 7 the same on the Evo 8?

Thanx
Victor
