Ever think you'll have your driver try the tephra v5.10 no lift to shift feature to see if it's better than the AEM's? JUst to see if there is any difference in the 1/4 mile results...ya know...for fun

Jamie, not sure, probably not to be honest. We do not use NLS in the AEM either. Tried it, nobody liked it, not Trent, not Kevin and not Daniel. We have a different way of doing it that works better according to all three of them.

I do have an alt map switch I need to install though!! It's been SO busy, no time to work on the car.

Put "stick boy" on Tephra's NLTS... I'll be willing to bet that if you let him dial it in to what he wants/works for him, he'll like it too... A LOT! Better yet, I'll be willing to bet that if YOU work with dialing it in for you, you may find that YOU'LL spend more time behind the wheel than Trent at the big races. It makes me "Joe Hero" when shifting... esp since I'm not into the whole "drag race thing".

Got a friend of mine that shifts like no other too... jackass can shift ANYTHING WOT, no clutch, without so much as a "click" (defies all that is known). I had to "cheat" with the NLTS mod, but none the less, I'm in there now .

Wow! Very nice.

"Yes, stock EVO9 DV, they work excellent, other than the Tial with speed density it is what I recommend. I was going to smash the top of it and forgot! It will hold even more boost with the smash mod."

Now that's flippin' the track and bringin' the old school back, Dave.
Those were the days.

I think the chrome taillight housings look much better than the black on a white car. They blend better, IMO.

We do actually no lift shift the EVO's but we do not set the ECU up like most people to for doing it. Nobody here liked cutting the ignition/rpm to do it. The cars all get power shifted with the throttle to the floor still but not like everyone else does with NLTS.

I've tried it, it makes no improvements for me. With or without it I can not hit the gears every single time without missing. The only hope for me is a dog box! haha The other guys must just be more cooridinated than I am, they never miss regardless.

David, I noticed you put BR9 Iridium plugs in the car. At this cars power level would you always run 9 heat range plugs, or was it just what you had on the shelf? Where do you usually draw the line for different heat ranges? Also, do you use oem timing belts, or the fancy kevlar ones. Thanks.

hahaha raw abuse, thats awesome! going to tephra's NLTS will not help the car in this case (at least I doubt it would), however *you* might find that you can hit the gears better whilst rowing through them. I've found on mine that an 800 rpm drop wasn't quite enough, 1000 was about right.

The 9 heat range plugs are what I had in an iridium on the shelf. I generally use an 8 heat range. The RS uses a special NGK racing plug, 8 heat range.

We generally use the stock timing belts, they fit better actually.

The 10.65 pass was a 1.59x sixty foot, that is the best one so far.

What firing end does the plug in the RS have? Have you noticed any performance increase between the racing plug and a standard NGK?

We made the mistake and did it, I'd never do it again.
