kelford cam install problem

last night my buddy and me pulled an all nighter to get my cams and cam gears in. they are the kelford 272's with bc cam gears. the install went great and was by the book. after we got her buttoned up and started we found that the cam gears rubbed the cam gear cover. we shaved the inside of the cover down a bit so there is no more contact. we were then trying to get some oil to the lifters by raising the idle while it cold and warmed up. they are still not primed and are noisy as ****. did i mention that we bled them? after a bit, it started idling like **** and threw two codes, i forgot exactly what they were but it was for the fuel pump and an o2 sensor. i will get the codes when i go back over there. we also did a compression check and it had 160-165.. one thing to note is when we opened the cam boxes, the cams were labeled backwards. the exhaust cam with the notched end and thread for the cam sensor was labeled intake. i will be able to give yall more info when i get back to the car in a min. any input is greatly appreciated.

My cams were labeled incorrectly as well. I would look into the codes. Find out what each of them is first. My lifters took about 20 mins to queit down and in perspective are pretty loud in general and always have been.

Aren't Kelfords pretty aggressive and require upgraded springs, retainers, etc? Are you using the stockers with them?

I had some codes light up after my cams but tuning helped fix the problems.

They say they can be used with stock springs. I installed fp beehives at the same time because they retain stock retainers and fit stock valve seals.

Either you have something out of adjustment or something unhooked. Probably needs a tune though.
