Knock Sensor Replacement

I searched around the forum and over google and really could not come up with much. Can anyone tell me the best way to go about swapping out the knock sensor in an 03 8. I could not find a how to or anything. Is it easier from the top or bottom on the car and what all do I need to take out that is in the way? Any pics would be greatly appreciated.

there is a post floating around the forum somewhere that explains what size socket you can buy and cut to make room for the wires. You NEED to torque it to the proper specs all the info is listed in the post..search knock sensor and maybe socket...ill try to find it later...

I think the easiest way is from the top and to make it easier you could disconnect but not remove fully the intake mani brace.

it didnt i think it just went bad. it has become super sensitive and no matter what was being done with the tune it was still knocking like crazy. it was knocking and pulling so much timing that the car would not make over 300hp with a precision 6262 turbo and an ets equal length manifold kit. the car has 87000 miles on it so theres a good chance the sensor is going bad. if not its one less thing to replace later.

There could be things causing it to knock. Maybe you have some vibration in the car somewhere-metal to metal 'causing some phantom knock? My tuner said my old car had a super sensitive knock sensor, he said try to replace it and I didn't attempt to.
