Wierd clunk

Hello everyone,

This is kinda hard to explain, and not sure if anyone will know what I'm talking about. But yesterday I had a new suspension installed (HIGHLY doubt this has anything to do with it). I started noticing a "clunking" sound when I turn the car off, right before the engine completely stops. I tried to see where its comming from and can't really tell, just that it is around the engine bay.

It sounds like the engine litterly just died after I turn the car off.

Did I just never hear this sound before or what \

Car drives fine and everything, just when started to notice some extra noises when the engine is cold in the morning and when I turn the car off

Also check the clearances on your downpipe. Mine used to rattle when I turned my car off.

I'm on a stock clutch. The stock TOB is not the greatest and has been making noises since the car was brand new. I tried what you suggested and the noise is still kinda there. The weird thing is, it mostly happen if the car is cold and I move it in or out of the garage. If I drive it for couple miles the clunking does really happen.

The downpipe sits on the bottom bracket (or whatever those two bars are called), but its wraped so I don't think and clunking would happen. I will check it out next time I'm under the car though.

When i put springs on my car it caused it to clunk whenever i turned the wheel and was going slowly, say going into a parking space. It is possible your springs are setting.

use a few washers on those tie bars to space em out so they are not touching your downpipe. when you motor flexes so does ur down pipe and you should not have anything restricting that movement besides if you had changed ur motor mounts. thats probably not ur noise though.
