Converting to Speed Density on stock IX turbo
Converting to Speed Density on stock IX turbo
Like the title states; I was wondering if anyone has converted from MAF to speed density on the stock turbo or a 30R and what the horsepower gains were?
Also I will be doing this but not sure if I should do a 3", 3.5", or a 4" intake pipe. Could someone shine some light on the pros and cons of each. Thank you.

I have speed density on stock ecu with fp red and you don't gain any power. Its just a different way to read the air going into your engine and the ability to vta. I love it for the fact that if I blow off IC piping I can still drive it temporarily to a safe place to put it back on.

Interesting, I thought the gains were ~10 - 15 hp as you can eliminate the MAF screen and improve the intake....
That's exactly what I was thinking. I just wanted to see if anyone had a dyno graph to show that. I was just wondering if a 4" intake would be to large for the stock turbo

If you didn't use DLL to see the difference, then how do you know what difference it made (or didn't make)? It really ought to gain at least 20 whp without the MAF, especially if you are at 450+ whp.
Lets just say I made the same hp I did on a 60 degree day w/ 20% humidity as I did on Thursday when it was 90+ w/ 50% humidity on less boost.
Putting a 4" intake together right now to purchase to see if there is any difference. I will prob get a baseline w/ my current intake again when I go and then put the new 4" intake on. I have been looking around and it looks like the FP DSM Aluminum 4" intake should work on stock appearing turbos too w/ a 2.5"-4.0" coupler reducer.
