HELP: Tranny Problems

So a friend of mine just purchased a RR evo IX MR that was listed on here that got some attention (link...https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sa...s-23500-a.html)
So it just got delivered here in NY and they load it off the trailer and the car will not go into gear at alll while the car is running. Now if you shut off the car, the car will go into every gear with ease and no problem.

Just to get the car home we had to put it in first gear, then start the car, then drive. Once the car was moving it has no problem getting into gear and shifting through all of the gears again, but ONLY if the car is moving.

We contacted the seller and he said the Exedy clutch as just put in, nd had no suh problems when he delivered the car to be delivered here. Does anyone have any ideas? This was the first time i had ever seen the car. The truck driver said that the owner insisted on pulling the car onto the trailer himself. I wonder if it had these problems

Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Thanks. I thought it could have been an adjustment. But could it be an adjustment if the clutch is locking me out completely when the car is running?!

Very possible if the throw out bearing will not press into the pressure plate enough to let the clutch disc release completely from the flywheel, often times this can cause a lockout situation.

It's probably a pull-type clutch. Adjust and bleed the clutch.

I'd want to know the exact mileage on the car when it was loaded on the trailer to compare to the mileage when it came off.

Call me suspicious but I have been burned in the past.

THIS!!!!!!!!!!

When I had my EVO 9 shipped over to Germany (in the military) there was an extra 60 miles on my odometer! Bet your *** the shiping co. beat the crap out of the car. It all ended when my insurance sued both companies for...... meh, cant remember right now and won me a settlement of almost 6k for the clutch and body damage which occured during shipping.

I'm guessing the seller is hiding something since he insisted on pulling the car onto the trailer.
