My bf and I really want to see the engine when its taken out. I just passed-by their yesterday and its still untouched in the backyard. There was still no luck on finding a good used block so I told him to just get a brand new one from the dealer. I was thinking of getting a built 2.0 but i will stay stock to be more reliable. As soon as the head had been checked at the machine shop and the whole system for metal debris, I am expecting to feel a brand new engine.

By the way, nice numbers from Iveytune on a stock ECU!!!

wrong, I swear...turbo back exhaust and no tune on most new car's is going to allow you to overboost and can cause big problems, not all cars are the same; but i've read of engines going from this.

im gonna say it wasnt the bolts ons and go with the BSE being installed wrong, i have seen too many evos with just bolt ons and no tune run perfect if not a tad rich. pics of the motor when its taken apart, if you need a new shop that isnt gonna just have it sitting in the backyard till they are ready. call STM, im sure they would be more then happy to find out why it died and make sure it dont happen again.

yea, if they havent touched it yet i would take it out of there. where in ny are you located. also a built motor can be just as or more reliable than the oem if done right.

I agree with TTR. The BS bearings weren't rotated when the kit was installed. I'd go over there tomorrow and demand that it be checked right now, in front of you. It'll take them less than 1/2 hr to get to the front BS bearing. Once you see the oiling hole in the bearing lined up with the oil hole in the block demand $ and tow the car out of there.

I would remove your car from that shop ASAP. They will cover up their ****up and try to blame something else.

I believe people removing balance shafts incorrectly will def cause this! People who try to do it some b.s. method instead of doing it the right way end up ruining perfectly good motors.

Thanks for the offer TTP..cant afford to ship it there.

Too late guys...since Im at work everyday, a good friend of mine was there on Monday and saw that my engine was already being removed. Since they know that i want a stock block with stock internals, it should be quicker. Hopefully i will take some pics. Im going back this saturday to check how everything is going.

Dont get me wrong guys, im not hating the owner since he didnt install it himself. Ive known the shop two years. Im just upset with the fact that something was done wrong or went wrong and now I have to pay for the consequences.

You dont have to pay for the consequences as you did nothing wrong, but thats just me..... I would be fighting tooth and nail to get my motor fixed at the shops expense.
