Angry This is unbelievable!!!

I was smelling gear oil since a while ago, and I was hearing gear noise whenever I start to move.

I put my car on the ramp today, and I foudn that my transfer case filler plug is missing!

I took my car to the El Cerrito Mitsubishi (CA) and asked them to check my drive train oil levels, and change rear differential oil last month.

And the mechanic there was the last person who touched my transfer case.

This is unbelievable, I was running about 600 miles since then, and my car has only 2700 miles!!!

I am going to request changing the trasnfer case into a new one.

Hopefully they will accept responsibility and take care of you the way they should. Stupid oversight on the part of the tech, but things like that do happen. I would not budge an inch on the request to have the transfer case replaced. Who know how much damage and wear has occurred at this point?
