what kind of...

Quick question: As an EVO owner wannabe what will it take $$ wise and parts wise to get from ~270 hp at the crank to ~300-350 Whp? Basically this car will be one bad mothaf*cka if you could get over 300 whp out of it. It is quick already, could probably beat a z06 over a road course with that kind of power and would with some mods handle like a beast, i'm just curious,

We had a totally stock evo dyno with 295 ft lbs to the wheels! with just our reflash - thats way over 300 to the flywheel

I cant say from where and how much power it will make but just wait!
Since you are in Ohio, I bet you are talking about Mark's car at Quantum Racing. I have talked to him in the past week as I purchased some cams from him, and the engine internals will be able to handle an insane amount of power. Also, talked to him about the weight reduction that he is doing to lighten the load on the drivetrain with that much power, can't wait to see some timeslips and dyno results when it is done.

I am still waiting on the first individual that is going to do the 4g64 bottom end with the 4g63 head (in an EVO VIII), and see what kind of turbo they plan on using with that setup. I would like to see a Y2k T88, but that could be to big to spool up. This of course would be one insane drag car.

That's a nice power-up guide, Maki. Leaving the prices off is a nice touch. Wouldn't want to give everyone heart failure...

You will need the following to build 400-450whp the right way:

Bigger turbo, of course, Stock may be okay but will take a dump when trying to hold it to a high PSI level. Us honda owners usually upgrade to a Precision SC61 or a T3/T 60-1, spool time is not as good for low end RPM but in high end we kill. Ball bearing is good, but too much money. So if you got money get it!

Injectors, preferrably 880CC to be safe, requires resistor box.
brands
-Siemen Deka,
-RC Engineering
- Bosch
-MSD

Walboro High Volume fuel pump

bigger intercooler, though the stock Evo INtercooler may be good.
the more fins the better.

your valvetrain is better than most cars, you can upgrade this guarantee more for you goal, though Evo's valve train is made for boost. Take the rev-limiter off to maximize your redline

hope this makes sense. maybe missed something. thanx

Boost Controller
PIstons, Rods, though the EVO has badass internals, need more research on this.

ACT clutch, need this to hold the extra HP and torque or it will slip
Exhaust system, if you can run straight downpipe with no cat, prepare for some awesome boosting.

Finally, fuel management system with a dynotune, right now I see AEM EMS as the best bang for buck in tuning an EvO, greddy makes one.

if you wanna go pro, do the MOTEC brand, might idle like crap though.

Here is a simple answer MONEY LOL just being sarcastic.

What I would do is just find someone who has that much HP and look at there mods, and go from there.

You don't have to get the same parts as them, but its a good starting point.

Also when you start to mod your car, buy a few things at a time, and tune, then buy somemore and tune somemore etc......

Anywho......once I find some more money I will be looking for more HP too!
