Oh.

A little searching on Buschurs site provided the info you needed...

This is the Buschur Racing rear differential support, or called by some the "mustache bar". This also holds the rear differential in place. The stock bar weighs in at 15.9 pounds and ours weighs in at only 3.2 pounds, that's a nice 12.7 pound savings. This is the part we put on our car, along with the aluminum rear differential bushings that we are crediting our new improved 60' times to.

would AMS be willing to put a urethane bushing on each bolt hole on there AMS mustache eliminator bracket. this will absorb a lot of the shock in the rear and reduce the risk of busting up the rear cover.

Has anybody broken a rear cover that actually installed it correctly? (used the aluminum inserts and not the stock rubber or aftermarket poly)

with the solid bushings or the BR solid mounts no i dont think so. but using it with harder rubber bushings i would say yes. to have a harder rubber bushing in the side bracket and the AMS unit with bushings on the 3 mounting points would be good too. having everything solid is just hell. its annoying to say the least.

^+1 although the car we are building has solid bushings in the BR rear diff side brackets AND we have the AMS mustache bar delete too which is solid. Granted, this is not on a DD car, but I've driven it like that before and it is DEF annoying! Sounds like a fire truck siren in ur head all the time. But on the other hand, the car launched like a ****!

I asked them, and the answer was no. After looking at the design a little closer, I've come to the conclusion that running anything other than the aluminum bushings on their kit is asking for long-term trouble.

Exactly how I had it. I then sold both parts and rebought the br side brackets with bushings and the br mustache bar. I have not gotten to try it out yet. But im sure its better.

Better is relative.

If you hard mount the diff, it's going to be loud. No question about it. If you are good with that, the AMS solution is cheaper and perfectly adaquate to get the job done when properly installed.

Better IMO is which part gets the job done for less.

I decided against installing solid mounts because I dont think I'll be able to handle to extra noise and vibration transmitted to the interior.

Sorry to rehash this hostile thread but aside from all the beef and bs no one has even given the OP or anyone searching like myself any valid information on which is better or atleast what the pros and cons are of each compared to the other. I"m guessing that the BR setup is a little more sturdy and better for DD and the AMS kit is lighter and better for racing. I don't really mind vibration as long as it's not like obnoxious but performance I care A LOT about. My biggest worry is does this put any more undue stress on the axles or rear diff?

No undue stress. I would do the Buschur part, or poly bushings in the stock mustache bar.
