I'm going to step into the Cheerio bowl full of ****.

#1) You didn't properly Engineer the part... and you had a failure.

#2) Regardless of what YOU think you can NOT waive liability.

#3) I find it moderately amusing that the Buschur crowd is giving the 9sec9 crowd such a hard time about not properly testing or engineering parts. We all live in a glass house my friends. If you need to find someone who's made a mistake... look no further than your own mirror.

#4) Don't act like an Engineer because you're not... I'm sure you didn't get a Masters in Mechanical Engineering and you sure as **** didn't FEA your parts. I see freshman in college that design and make parts that were better designed than these "Professional Race Shops."

Moral of the story... You're at the bottom of the pyramid of speed and it's a LONG LONG way to the top.

If what car you drove determined your accomplishments in life...what does a jetta say about yours?

What you need to realize is that we're not at the mecca of motorsports intelligence on Evom.net... be a little more humble.

Out of curiousity, are there any other pictures of Tom's broken Mustache bar? I'd be curious to know if the tab that still attached to the diff is the only part of the Mustache Bar that broke.

Here's my theory:

1. Driver's side diff mount hole was cross threaded, which compromised the strength of the mount.
2. Under a hard launch (which only Trent could do, we know Tony can't), the cross threaded bolt was pulled out of the threads.
3. The diff was then rotated in a counterclockwise direction (looking from the rear).
4. This caused the tab to break as shown in Tom's pictures.
5. This also sheared the bolts off that went through the sleeves in the Mustache Bar and the tubing was fine.

So my question is....where are the bolts that went into the diff?? My guess is half was still in the diff and the other half is in the grass at Dragway 42.

the point here i think is that tripped out or missing bolts in a drivetrain or suspension can cause some serious damage. use the right parts and dont half *** a huge build and crap like this wont happen. another point. is br is replacing every one that has failed which was just some stress cracking and no one's rears are falling out.
