The AMS kit does not replace the factory side mounts. It replaces the factory side mount rubber bushing with aluminum bushings. In the interest of getting less noise transmitted into the cabin, he has replaced the aluminum bushing with a Whiteline poly bushing.

I know I should let this thread die with all the arguing going on, but I'm thinking about using the buschur side diff mounts with the stock mustache bar. How would you feel about that?

Id do a mustache bar and save 13lbs before id do the supports to save 5lbs.. Add the solid bushings to the side supports if anything..

Even David himself said that people that ordered the bar are getting a free set of the bushings. So I think it's something that has to be done all together.

I just ordered the avid race mounts and I don't want the rear diff knocking around because of the added stress.

Recently had the AMS Moustache Bar Eliminator installed. Yeah, it saves a ton of weight! I was a bit surprised at how the sound of the shifts changed as well. Given my car is pretty stripped inside so everything is louder, but it sounds almost like a dogbox or like you're banging gears w/o the clutch! I personally really like it.

Zero problems shifting or driving with the upgrade. I tracked it all weekend and put it through it's paces - all good!

Yeah, it does sound a lot more like a dogbox - even with much of the sound deadening still on the car.

Great part IMO. installed one on a customers car a few months back and it's definitely solid. Transmits a bit of diff noise to the cabin, but he's also lacking a backseat cushion and has solid side carrier bushings in the rear diff as well.
