BR, 2.4, high hp/high rpm build?
Ceramic coating is a heat barrier. So it would be good on top side of piston to sheild it from combustion temp. On bottom side it would be bad. The bottom needs to shed as much heat as possible. From what I have seen ceramic coated piston tops are like snake oil. It works but from What I have seen it doesnt stay on. combustion chamber is too violent. okay for drag car but on a streett car it will burn off after a few thousand miles.
The guy at HPC (high performance coatings) said it would only flake off it there was very heavy detonation and there was pitting on the head or piston...
Did Aaron pull down his 2.2LR that he built? didn't have have the ceramic coatings on the pistons? (the light brown stuff).
Ya I probably hit up the forums every hour or so for like 5 or 10 mins at a time, I work at a wine shop and if its quiet and I have some down time Im able to jump on for a bit. Rock though...his F5 key must have a hole in it
