The T3 set-up will be much better as the turbo will not have to work that much to make power...

good luck...

YES, I had the new oil line that connects to the oil filter housing installed... filter was clean as a whistle as well....

So my synopsis of the FP Red is to stay away from it if you track your car on a road course...

I was told to stay away from it but I convinced myself that the turbo would hold up with the new oil line and all...

Now I'm paying for it...

The T3 set-up will be much better as the turbo will not have to work that much to make power... as for the Red, the wheels are lopsided and will not balance out to well resulting in failure...

good luck...
wow thats a turn off..

what t3 kit would you get if you had about $3500 to spend on it??

i have not heard until only his of a fp red failure after they added the new oil line there are tons of people on this forum running a fp red to perfection. YOU have a warranty use it. they all come with one. On a lighter note op do you have 3500k right now to lay down on any turbo??

I agree on the OP getting an FPBlack, its a bit bigger and laggier than a Red but will make close to a T3 kit power without the need for a kit. You'll have all the power you want and maybe more on pump gas, the turbo will be under less stress and you can take that $1500 you have left, pay for the tune and dyno time, buy some more supporting mods and a gift for your girlfriend lol

WTF are you talking about!

1) a T3 6262 will spool before 5k!
2) A Red will go over 600hp. I have 520hp on low boost!
3) T4 is where the power is was a 1.00+ A/R. Running a T3 will help spool a lot but the downside is that a T3 flows 30% less than a T4! Here is the comparison on a divided setup.

A divided setup vs. a open setup also flows about 20% less... There are so many different combos out there.

Personally I would look into the Black. I have one on the way and should be 550 on only 30psi, that is if I can keep my tq under 425 on stock block... Full boost will be by 4200 and it can make 700hp. You will also have a much more streetable car than if you had a t3 or t4 3582. Also it costs 1500 less. Call and talk to Robert at FP and he will give you all the reasons to get a Black. I know that a Black on pump will put down over 500

yeah i know if i did buy a kit it would have to sit around for a little bit cause i'd be broke

so you think the black would be better on pump gas then the red?

Yes. I think the black will make 30+ more hp on pump for two reasons.

1) It will produce a cooler air charge (very important for pump gas)
2) You will be running the compressor wheel at a slower speed then the red, it will be more efficient and have a lower core temp will allow you to run prob 1psi more of boost without knocking.

So you make power by having a cooler air charge and running a bit higher boost. the money you save getting the Black get a Magnus v5. That alone on a black will give you 40-50hp more on pump! With all the things mentioned above it is about having a cooler intake charge temp, and less back pressure. Those things equal more power, more boost, and more timing. GO BLACK

30+ saying that all the math adds up but no one has done it yet. I will be doing it but on my car it will break 500hp on pump no problem.

Well no one has tested it yet but I will bet my car that on a proper setup it will make 500+ wheel! Pretty much take a pump gas HTA 3582 and subtract 7-10% of the peak power and that is what this turbo will make on pump That is still on stock head w/good cams like you have and stock block. Nothing crazy. I will have our testing done by mid dec. I expect there will be a let of dynos out by then. On pump 93 you should be able to run 30psi spike and it will hold 30psi all the way to 8k. Don't believe me try it It is a sick turbo for what it is.
