fp-red vs t3 kit
It really depends on the fuel, boost, and hp level, but the larger the turbo the less tq it will have. Saying that the Black should have the least amount of tq. If I was doing pump gas I would def go for a Black because it will keep your tq below 400 and your horsepower would be around 500+. That would be pretty safe on the stock bottom end.
A Red is much safer on the stock block than the HTA Green. A lot of Greens on meth or race gas run 500hp/500tq. That will blow the **** out of the stock block. The Red on meth and moderate boost at 500hp would only have 380tq...
The Red is 999.00
The Black 800-1200
It really depends on the Black. A stock IX would be closer to 1200 and a Red to a Black upgrade would be more around 800-900. Don't take my word on this because Robert has not released the exact numbers yet. He did say that for now it would be on a case by case basis depending on the wear of the the turbo and what he has to replace but 800-1200 is about right
Any questions on this should be taken up with the FP crew.

They do make great turbos though and Chad can't seem to make a turbo that will put down numbers like a Red much less a Black. People like to make power and Robert has give some good optionsHe is not disagree.
i went with a ported-red, oil line feeder kit, 3" intake hose, 880cc injectors, buschur fuel rail.
i'm aslo replacing my ets 3" ic with there 3.5" ic
i hope i hit my power goal on 93oct

I think it is only 100.00 more too
my black conversion was 500 from my brand new fp red so you can add from there as far as usuage of your turbo and wear. mine had none as it was brand new. why not go with 1000cc injectors. from all the information i have read and tuners i have talked to they all say just do it once and get 1000cc or 1200cc. When they tune it they will take care of idling etc.
^if e85 isn't in his forseeable future, there is really no need. Personally I agree with you and might as well future-proof yourself as best as you can. BTW - do you have an ETA on when you'll get your Black, Rockman?
choose what turbo fits your needs..
the balance between a non stock housing turbo setup and stock housing turbo setup comes down to what you want, as far as accessories also..
our turbo is made for lightning quick spool and good power with bolt ons (typically 375-430whp on 93 on our dyno).... the new BBK is going to give a bit more, with a little sacrifice in spool, not much.
the Black is obviously a big power turbo... robert crammed a biggie in that stock housing and I commend him for it
I have yet to dyno a black here, but id love to tune one.. would be interested to see how it compares to tubular manifold kits on our dyno.
cheers
