thanks!
I don't think you can go wrong with either turbo. I chose the BBK because I knew I would get it in a few days. Idea of ordering and waiting weeks, most likely months, to get a turbo from FP made my decision easier.
Except now the wait is very short. Since they swapped to thier own cover the delays have been minimized dramtically. So you bought the wrong turbo for the wrong reasons! That sucks.
Obviously we know you like your turbo but no need for the stupid *** post.
How can you make such a statement ? Do you know what boost levels the owner runs, how he/she uses the car, reliability concerns, etc. ? The BBK has shown to provide a broader power curve for boost under 28 psi (do a little search)....In terms of peak hp, it appears the Red surpasses the BBK beyond 30 psi, but still the BBK has a broader power curve...
^ this is why I have been considering this turbo for so long. Great reliability and a broad powerband for daily driving purposes. Just seems like the Red even on pump just puts out more power. Its hard to tell whether or not you will like any of these turbos if you have never driven an evo w one. I drove a red and t does have some lag compared to a stock ix turbo but its not horrible. Its all about what you want. This is a never ending comparison.
our new turbo may have a different colored comp wheel!
let me know if can help with any questions, once again you need to pick what is right for you... we build LOTS of evo's and have a pretty good idea on how to provide potential client's with solutions to fit their needs.
It's very fortunate that the evo community has more than one option in my opinion...
