4088r on a 2.0?
We had a customer with an aluminum rod 2.0 with a 4088. The car was very fast and made a lot of torque it also spooled up fairly nice for a larger turbo. This set up and parts breakage is going to depend on your driving. The reason why i said he "had" is because he got so frustrated with the car always being broken he put it back to stock. I think he still holds the record for 10 quartermaster rebuilds in a year. I also saw the car destroy the ring gear in the tcase as well. I would stick with the 2.0 build. Get a built tcase and trans if you are going to leave it on street tires you should be able to get away with stock axles. You are starting to enter the "race" only set up if you DD this car you may want to re think your set up. I see a lot less breakage with a 6262 or 3586 set up . Just wanted to warn you.

^^^Been there done that. But I feel it has nothing to do with the turbo kit unless you have not built everything that has been mentioned in this thread.
Once you move to a big turbo like this or even a 6262 or 3586 the chances of you breaking something that was not modified greatly increase. There are minor details that make the world of difference when fooling with big power and torque like this thing can make. Case in point, a scatter sheild on the tranny. We have seen the posts of guys tranny's literally exploding. This simple thing can take out a few other parts that will cost you even more money and even more down time. Or another simple thing that happened to me recently was a stock clutch line. A simple $80 part that the shop somehow figured I didn't need it. A $140 tow later and then the $80 clutch line and the headaches and the rushing to get the car done for the car show could have been avoided had the shop used a tenth of common sense.

Here's the video of my buddy John on a built 2.3 on a 35R. Exploding his axles and taking out his tranny and t/C. There was a apple size hole in both when he was done.
I agree with what the guy above me said but once you get into the GT4088 realm or any big turbo for that prepare to start dropping some serious cash to fix and/or upgrade parts.
I have dropped 55K+ into my car not even including the price of the car.
Do it right the first time otherwise you will regret it. Trust me!

Im not one of those guys that launches non stop, like i said my sti had a bone stock drivetrain and 540whp and i never broke anything. Im not an idiot though, i fully understand that i wil break something eventually at this power level but i want to reduce the chance as much as i can.
Couple more questions.
When does the stock intake manifold and throttle body start becoming a restriction?

I am still on the stock IM and TB. Now I have both aftermarket (Magnus V5 & Boomba TB) parts sitting behind me but I need some more cash to install it or the weather to clear up and get warm enough that I can't see my breathe anymore so I can install the stuff. Seeing as it's 3 degrees outside the car will be under the cover till spring.
But the more air the motor can breathe the better. People put a IM and TB on much smaller turbos and a ported TB has showed some pretty decent gains for the amount you spend on it.
