Need help- 2 codes , car dies!!!

Need help- 2 codes , car dies!!!

well on xmas started car to leave parents house let it idle for about 5 10 minutes , then it died!!!!!

car had three codes how do i test which sensor is bad???

p0340 - camshaft position sensor malfunction

p0335 - crankshaft position sensor malfunction

I cleared the faults and car started fine idled for a few minutes and the codes came back and car died again!!!!

any input please

yes but ive been doing someresearch and am going to try a couple things first!!!! apparently some other people have had the same exact issues! but yeah ill prolly swap sensors if i cant fix the problem...

its the cps sensor its 80 bucks easy fix just make should you dont put it in backwards... that will get you really fusterated unfortunantly it happens quite often

^ yeah ima try getting a new battery alot said a dying battery can be the problem from my researching! and mines been giving me hard starts in the morning or if the car sits for a couple hours! if not off to mitsubishi on monday!

you know my evo been doin the same **** not wanting to start in the cold *** weather.. its really annoying, im scared to take it anyhwere being afraid it wont start...

mine was starting to get bad last winter and i just dealt with it til now! lol its hard to start and when it starts the cams i have make it sound bad til it idles up a bit.

Check the Camshaft Position trigger. It's inside of the housing that the Camshaft Position Sensor bolts to.

My car also has cams and my trigger wheel came loose, causing the car to throw p0335 and p0340 codes. I re-aligned the wheel in the slots on the cam, tightened it back up, cleared the codes and it's good now. Probably should use loctite.
