2.0 vs 2.2 for Drag race

I have seached and seached and i can't find anything why people don't use a stroked motor for drag racing. I'm doing a 6262 pte Turbo and just want to know what would be better for drag racing hy.

Thanks
Bob

2.0 for only drag racing. More displacement would help out in autocross & fun on the street.

It is because the long stroke of the most convenient combination (100mm crank in 4G63 block) results in high piston speeds at moderate rpm, less durability, and less high rpm efficiency as a result of the short rod/stroke ratio. This can be offset somewhat by gearing, but that isn't a popular route.

These factors make the 2.0L far more popular.

The main reason is the failure rate of most 2.0L drag motors. Keeping things as off the shelf as possible is easiest.

However the 2.2 combo seems to still lend itself to high rpm usage. Getting the R/s in the neighborhood it needs to be means a pretty specific combination to still work above 10k.

AMS uses a 2.1 I believe which is not a stroker, but is big bore and uses the long rods for the extra rpm capacity.

I do believe the fastest DRAG Mitsu engine in the world is a 2.0 4g63. And i believe its the fastest 4 cylinder in the world as well but not 100% sure on that one. Im talking about Brent Rau's car of course, built by Marco from Magnus. 2.0 has been proven time and time again to be a great Drag combo obviously.
