what you said makes no sense. if you were going 2.3 you get a black? but ill just get a red. LOL seriously a black is 200rpm slower then the red but creates more power not to mention you will not feel that 200 rpm difference. the only real question is do you have the 2k for the black. if your not going 2.3 you can still run a black with good results sounds like you want 450whp and thats enough for you then might as well get it quicker and get a HTA GREEN and call it a day. if you want alittle more fun run it on e85 for the 500whp 490+tq combo.

BBK is a good choice for 450whp on pump gas.

Blacks are over 2k so its a touch out of my price range. reason im thinking red is i found a smoking deal on one

once i go 2.3 ill crank it up with e85, i know the red is fully capable of 550+

Makes you wonder. People who had the red are upgrading for the black, but those of us with the HTA greens are too in love with the fast spool and top end power.

94AWDcoupe did an excellent job breaking down the wheels so you can see a difference in the old vs new green, and I plotted my dyno and some of the stuff others have heard in that thread. You won't be disappointed with this turbo.

yea the green was going to be my first choice but for 400 bucks cheaper on a slightly used red to me was a better deal, i can deal with 200rpm slower spool i suppose, if i dont like it i can always sell it hahah

FP has a exchange program.

per the email FP sent me:

"Send in your stock Evo 9 turbo for one of the 4 following options:

Evo WHITE - $695.00
- This is a compressor wheel upgrade only.

Evo GREEN - $869.00
- This is a compressor wheel and turbine wheel upgrade.

Evo RED - $999.00
- This is a compressor wheel and turbine wheel upgrade.

Evo BLACK - $1099.00
-This is a compressor wheel, compressor cover and turbine wheel upgrade.

When you send in your turbo, you will receive the appropriate wheel upgrade and you will receive your stock sized compressor cover and stock wastegate actuator unless you request upgrades. The possible upgrades are as follows:

84mm Surge Ported Cover - $150.00 (White, Green, Red)
18PSI Wastegate Actuator - $129.00 (White, Green, Red, Black)
25PSI Wastegate Actuator - $129.00 (White, Green, Red, Black)
Turbine Housing Porting - $95.00 (White, Green, Red, Black)"

Oh, okay. An upgrade program. You will have some down time but if that isn't a problem for you it is a very viable option.

Edit: Sorry, just saw the option to upgrade to the 80mm.
