Question Whats a good price for a clutch change?

My clutch just blew and i was wondering whats a fair price for a clutch change and should i take it to the dealer for the job?

from what i understand, $500 is a price that you can expect most places to quote you. However, there have been some places ive heard of that will do it for $350 or so...but i can't confirm this.

If you go to the dealer you will get raped. I paid over 1k for labor on my clutch. I, however, had no options as I was not near any shop I would trust.

The shop that I work at charges 6hrs labor for an awd clutch. $390

Dealers in my area charge 600-695. Not sure what other shops would charge. I good fair price would be in $400 range

I paid $360 to get mine swapped. 6 Hours @ $60 an hour (For those that can't multiply).

If you're in the NY Metro or Tri State area, contact " superz " a member on this board and he will give you a great price on an install.. He's done a bunch of installs of clutches already including his own Evo's clutch. Highly recommended, a great guy a professional mechanic with a lift a shop and all the proper tools.

I forgot to mention.. Tell him Tom sent you..
