This is awesome!
By the end of my Evo days, I was driving full time with my Apexi Active Silencer in (the spring loaded one).
This looks like a good mod for people who want flow, but not the noise (I must be getting old -- left SVTF exhaust stock too
).

I am loving this.....I hate the round magnaflow on my exhaust, this looks so much more stock appearing. If there is no power loss issues this seems like a pure winner to me - I have 2 mufflers on my car now because im getting old and hate the noise....
good work to the OP

Very nice find. I have been running the stock exhaust from the cat-back for a while now. I just have a 3" downpipe (with cutout that I never use), hi-flow cat, and then stock from there out. I still make plenty of power even on this setup on E85.
But, I would like to go back to a true 3" system. If this is stock-like sound levels during idle and cruise, I may pick this up.
Hopefully, we can get some vids soon.

I am so glad I cam across this thread.... I will buy one of these and install on my setup for sure!
Ill probably pick up HP on my FPred X because ill remove the 1 resonator muffler and end up with only this setup.

Please disregard my scraped bumper (Was like that when I bought it) and semi rusted exhaust tubing, for the record I do not recommend 409SS exhaust if your vehicle will be driven daily throughout a Minnesota winter
I went with the stock exhaust tip for a real sleeper look.

Wow that looks great
where are the sound clips????? come on Chris! I have a cobb tbe and its nice, its very quiet..... can be kind of LOW toned tho. I want to hear what this thing sounds like though cruising and idle, etc..... quieter is always better as you get older
I'm seriously kicking myself for all the time and money I spent a couple months ago replacing my uber-loud JIC Ti cat-back with a Magnaflow 16660 oval muffler cat-back and dual resonators.
? You dont even want to know how many setups I have been through.Oh and for the record I owe around 1400 dollars on my credit card just from buying/selling exhausts and parts for them. Every time I buy/sell I lose a lot of money.
Im SUPER interested in getting this. Im worried about performance a little bit though. I don't want to be robbing myself of any power, as well as when i autox. I don't want the modulation of the gas pedal and the opening and closing of that valve to affect power output and how my car makes power. Any ideas??
GREAT WORK BTW!!!

I'm going to try and get on the dyno and compare to my last numbers (it was a while ago but nothing in the tune or boost level has changed) to at least see how spool was affected if at all. I took some videos of revving the car at idle, but they turned out pretty poorly, when the RPM's come back down I did experience a rattle but under normal driving conditions it doesn't happen...
Beautiful job Chris. Mine arrived from Jegs today. At 27 think I'm already an old man.....
Rich you can stop by when I get it installed. Know anyone selling a MIG?

Do you plan on using the stock tip as well? I'm curious to see what people are going to use for a tip if they don't use the stock one.

Let us know if it progresses over time.
In my case it rattled a lot in the beginning but my friend applied pressure on the plate at an open angle, possibly bending it a little and it rattles less frequently now.
One thing I noticed is that you do have the valve pointing down (opens by pushing up) and I have it installed opposite point up (opens with the plate pushing down).
Maybe I'll try attaching it that way and see if it makes a difference.
