Incorrect. The OEM 6 speed MR clutch disk is made by Excedy. The springs a different in a way. The flywheel and pressure plate are the same. Most aftermarket clutch kits are universal and fit both, as do the OEMs but that doesnt make them the same. I found this out simply by looking up the part numbers. They dont lie

Thought I recognized that car. Auto Wei is about .5mi from where I used to work, I looked at that car and would have bought it if they would have done the right price. I let it go and ended up with a different car. I'm glad I didn't get that one now.

Hah! Thats crazy. Pete Wei is a f-ing crook! He wanted way too much! I practically stole this car from him and his dumbass gave me $2900 in positive equity on my 08 Frontier and he's still sitting on it. He really wanted my Frontier and really wanted to off load the Evo. At the end of the day he ****ed me but like I said, I got an attorney.
wow could have possiblely got a built motor but its all good im sure your probaly going to end up with a built one later. lol should think about sending turbo in to upgrade for a fp model

Yeah I was going to say you could have bought a brand new crated block from Buscher, GSC, AMS, and gotten headwork done twin disk clutch. Nothing personal I just think this was money wasted.

There is no way I could have purchased a crate short block, purchase a head core and have it worked, plus a new turbo and clutch kit all for $6100. Not to mention the Mivec. The plan is to have the stage 3 head job from Buschur, stock block, and an FP Black eventually.
im also in the process of swapping in a IX MIVEC longblock into my VIII MR. im still slowly breaking down the IX Motor and installing fresh belts and gaskets. New water pump, head gasket and ARP headstuds are going in also.
there aren't many 8.5 owners out there so kudos to being different. I got a good deal on my longblock with ecu and harness which is the primary reason why i wanted to do it.
keep us updated on the spark issue... it will probably be another few weeks before i get this badboy in.
Good Luck!

if you call mitsu to get a crate engine for an evo, MR and GSR are specific, for some reason they have 6spd and 5spd engine specific P/Nbrs
